marionanni is an artist, a craftsman, and a scrittoredellaluce®. with his guiding philosophy ‘progettarevocedelverboamare®’, he founded the company viabizzuno on his own in 1994, successfully leading it until the end of 2022. on june 19, 2023, he left the company to dedicate himself fully to his work as a lightwriter and artist, opening his studio-laboratory marionanni inside the marionannivirgola museum, via santo stefano 94 (bo). for over fifty years he has drawn on his experience with the material of light and his artisan expertise. with an approach that blends technique, aesthetics, philosophy, and poetry, he has created prestigious works such as the lighting of michelangelo’s moses in rome, the medici chapels in florence, and casa batlló in barcelona. in 2024, he received, together with paolo rizzatto, the compasso d’oro award for the figaroqua figarolà lamp.
his most important solo exhibitions have been hosted at the venice biennale for three editions, at the triennale di milano, and at villa panza. his works are displayed at the marino marini museum, the quirinale in rome, and the royal villa of monza.
today he directs marionannischolé®, which he founded on february 2, 2025.
