the course concludes with the development of an individual thesis project. a work that represents the synthesis of acquired knowledge, the ability to observe and transform light into thought, space, and vision.

admission requirements

to access the aptitude interview and the admission test, a bachelor's degree is required. a b1 level of english proficiency is also required. the following will be evaluated:

  • aptitude for research and experimentation, demonstrated through a portfolio or a motivational letter
  • observation and analysis skills, fundamental for the study of light as a design element
  • interdisciplinary sensitivity, with an interest in the connections between art, science, philosophy, and technology

required qualifications

candidates must hold one of the following qualifications:

  • bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, design, visual arts, engineering, scenography, or related disciplines.
  • academic diploma of I or II level issued by academies of fine arts or equivalent institutions.
  • equivalent qualification obtained abroad, recognized as suitable according to current legislation.

selection process

admission takes place through a selective interview and an aptitude test, which will include:

  • aptitude interview
  • oral and written general culture test, with particular reference to art history, architectural history, and design history.
  • freehand drawing test.
  • portfolio evaluation (if available).

language skills

knowledge of the english language (b1 level or higher with certification).

preferred qualifications

  • knowledge of autocad
  • previous experience in design, artistic, or laboratory fields.

the master's program has a limited number of places to guarantee a personalized educational path.
